How to write songs like Per Gessle

1. Take a word, any word at all. For example 'sand' and write something about it. Which doesn't make sense. Like the song Kung av Sand, king of sand that Gyllene Tider made.

2. Use a dictionary and search for *and.

3. Try to fit any of those words you find into the following line of lyrics. If it doesnt make sense, don't care. Write it anyway.

4. Repeat until you have 2-3 verses, a chorus and a bridge. Make song. Make radio play it and torture people.

Example of how the master Gessle uses this simple method:

När man läser filosofer,
letar mellan gamla strofer
Tror man det var annorlunda,
16 17 18 hundra
Icke så, mitt hjärta svider,
samma sak i alla tider

  • Star Wars, ET and now Avatar have all lost out to amazingly generic movies. To quote @AmandaMotion, buulllllllllllllll shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit 2 days ago
  • Its ironic really. Movies are marketed as something that can take you to another world, yet, movies that really does just that arent awarded 2 days ago
  • Hurt Locker? Just another war movie basically. And one such film being VERY far from being as good as Apocalypse Now or The Platoon. 2 days ago
