Another Volendam picture

As you can see by the pics in the last post I went to Volendam and Utrecht with some friends in the weekend. I'd never really been to either of those places. I've been in Utrecht a few times, but that's only been to the Centraal Station or the football stadium when Hammarby played against FC Utrecht in the Intertoto Cup.

Volendam was quite a nice little town, but we had no idea that it was the happening of the year up there this past weekend. Why? Well, 'Kermis', a kind of mobile tivoli that's very popular in NL, was in town. The Volendammers apparently took this as a reason to drink and party, and that for four days straight. The whole time that the kermis is in their village.
