Hollywood and Rush

I really wonder what the deal with Hollywod and it's obsession with Rush is. I saw Adventureland today and that was yet another movie which more or less made fun of Rush. That's like the fifth movie I see this summer which makes heavy references to Rush, usually in relation to a pretty nerdy guy and thus, more or less making fun of it. Fanboys was the first where the nerdiest guy ONLY listens to Rush and while it might not be nerdy guys in I Love You, Man, but at least they were talking about it in such a way that it felt like it was an inside joke where the purpose was to make fun of Rush.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I think this way due to Rush being a band you almost cant talk about without making fun of them, but I still think it's a bit weird that they are being referenced so heavily this summer.
