Summary of the 2007 music year; top five concerts

- Led Zeppelin, O2 Arena, London
It doesn't matter that I weren't there to see it, hearing a recording (which weren't that good I might add) of the concert was enough. It was THE music event of the year and the biggest concert since.. Well, one of Zep's last at Knebworth in 1979. The Live Earth thing don't stand a chance, especially since the cold and rainy weather created a huge anti-climax. - Mono, Patronaat, Haarlem
I've been somewhere living religious people haven't been, yet at least. Heaven. That's what this concert was. Heaven. - Efterklang, Paradiso kleine zaal, Amsterdam
Efterklang are so down to earth they looks more like a road kill than a very funny and experimental live band. They've got 10 people up on a tiny stage mixed with traditional instruments and instruments they've made themselves or just continued to play after they were damaged in one way or another. The singer is also a percussionist who hits cymbals with big holes in them for example. That instrument by itself would probably sound horrible, but mix it in with the rest of the music and it sounds awesome.
- Electric Eel Shock, Melkweg oude zaal, Amsterdam
Haven't had this fun on a concert since... well, the last EES gig I saw. Unfortunately not many people seem to understand the greatness of this japanese live band. I'm glad I do at least.
- Klaxons, Paradiso groote zaal, Amsterdam
Tagged along to this concert by chance hoping it was at least worth the money. And that it definitively was. I think they can improve a lot live though, they were a bit anonymous.
