Un-fucking-believable update II
Third post regarding this problem in the third Ubuntu session so to speak. The first one was from the live-cd, the second from the new installation of Ubuntu and this third one, from my normal Ubuntu partition on the "faulty" disk.
After connecting the disk live in Ubuntu the clicking sound was gone and the disks were recognized by the system. After changing the boot order in the system setup I could boot up as normal.
Strange.
Still gonna contact Western Digital support tomorrow to check what this could be caused by, and what could have solved it.
As it is now everything I lost was all 6 seasons of 24 which I had on one of the partitions on the functioning disk, deleted it to have place for the music backup.
I'm wondering how I would have done this with Windows.. First of all I'd probably just have been finished with installing WinXP and not even been close to backing up all my files, which I've done by now. Let alone fixed the problem, if not just temporarily.
Thank you Linux!
