Anything but ordinary

Imagine yourself walking around in a rainy Amsterdam, not a lot of people are out, not even tourists and even though you've already spent 10 minutes in the city you haven't seen one of the oh-so-famous groups of five British guys in the ages 25-30, yet I might add. Then walk 10 minutes away from De Dam and find yourself at a pretty anonymous entrance on Herengracht. Walk in and everything is in art deco style. Flashy, lots of small detailed stuff, "krumelurer", while being humongous at the same time. Pretty much like Bioshock but without the little sister. But with water.

That's where I spent most of my Sunday, at a spa made in art deco style. In fact they moved the interiors from an old shop in Paris to this spa in Amsterdam. It's not one of those that have mud baths and facials with cucumbers etc., the idea of this was one was just lots of heat and some cold. They had four different sauna's including a normal warm sauna, a Turkish bath and a kind of infra-red sauna. Easier to describe it like a microwave you're sitting in, sweating like a pig. It felt awesome afterwards though, especially after taking a few strokes in the cold bath.
