Amsterdam

Another day, another night in Amsterdam and another couple of concerts at Paradiso. I might not feel at home in Amsterdam and I might not like the city in general due to it being too much of a theme park. But I don't know how I would do without places like Melkweg, Bourbon Street and especially Paradiso. It's gotta be the best concert hall in the world, hands down. I really cannot imagine that anything is better than my beloved Paradiso.

Today I went to see 'We were promised Jetpacks', a scottish indierock band who were playing in the Kleine Zaal. They were pretty good, the gig had it's moments. They need to replace the bassist though, he was really bad, which was unfortunate because the singer and guitarist was pretty good.

After Jetpacks The Wailers started playing on the main stage. And yeah, that's the same Wailers as in Bob Marley & The Wailers. At least a couple of the original members were there, the others cannot possibly have been in the band in Marley's days due to lack of age. The Wailers was a really tight band but even though it's probably the closest you can come to watching Bob Marley today it felt more or less like they were playing covers rather than their own songs. The audience loved it though and it was pretty damn cool to hear those classic songs live in front of a full Paradiso.

Photos will be coming tomorrow probably..
