Five biggest problems with Vista
And then I'm not stating the obvious with the fact that you're running Windows when you instead should be running away from Windows.
we don't need Windows and Gates
- User. Access. Control. It's absolutely hawwwwwwrrible! It's mean to lead to higher security, but in fact it's the opposite because the only way to get rid of the annoying pop-ups is to disable the UAC completely. And then it's like XP all over again.
- It's probably the least optimized OS ever. You can have (at least) ten times as amazing desktop effects on a two, three or maybe even four times as old computer that runs Linux. When you think about it it's not strange, Microsoft have to give something back to the computer manufacturers for the M$-Tax...
- In Windows XP you could run almost all Windows 98 software without any problems. It was first when you tried to run early Win95-software XP could encounter problems. In Vista you should be glad if any WinXP software works without big problems. If you only have minor ones you should be glad they're not bigger.
- Network connections seems to be living their completely own lives. This is partly due to incompatibility with routers and servers, but this problem is generally not on the server-side but on the client-side. Might be good that new technique and protocols are used, but not in this forces M$-way.. Only today no-one who had Vista and were connected to Lunds 'stadsnät' could get out on the Internets due to Vista not being compatible with, what else, Linux-servers.33
- Last but not least is maybe not a big problem, but definitively an annoying one, especially for people who are not great with computers (or who cannot search). Windows Mail seems to get more often than not stuck messages in the outbox. To fix this you need a 3rd party program (WMUtil) and have complete access to the Win Mail database, i.e. winmail.exe cannot be running at all. Something it usually is even when you've closed the program.

- On Xbox Live, Linux is an inappropiate word (!). In some way I get the feeling that M$ feels threatened by the oh so almighty and powerful Linux... who have maybe 3-5% marketshare...333
