Yet another new media player..
This time, I've found gmusicbrowser. It's aimed to be a good player for large collections (10,000+) and after fiddling about for an hour or so I've got it to almost exactly how I want a music player to be. Only thing it's lacking is wikipedia support and ability to minimize albums within the playlist window, thus combining a media browser with the actual playlist. A screenshot below:
