The elected fascist and leftist dictator
I had a pretty interesting dream last night. I was dreaming that I was the president of the United Socialist States of America. I think it had something to do with Barack Obama announcing he'll be running for president in 2008. We're probably both as unlikely as being elected I mean.. I sure hope I'm wrong though.
Anyway, when I was dreaming I had all these great speeches enlightening the american people on what the hell they've been doing for the past 40 or so years and why it's been so wrong. It was great actually.
To call the Usa the world police ain't even fun anymore because it's so god damn true. A police with his own law book where he also adds laws whenever he likes.

I've said it before but it's worth saying again, I just can't understand how America can think they can go around in the world and impose their own politics, culture and mentality by force. Especially not when they seem to think that their way of living is so much better than everyone else's as they just have to be convinced that a person only needs to get a glimpse of that culture to switch to it.
There's probably a lot of leftists in Venezuela who would like the American way of living and culture if he or she was properly introduced to it, just as there would be a lot of Americans who would see the benefits of a socialist society. That would probably take a lot more time though, as it's easier to go ego than it is to go the other way around.
Anyhoo, the whole point of this is that, sure, there's quite a lot of countries where the people probably would get a better living with more western influence. The thing is that it just doesn't work to change an entire people's culture over night, most of them will complain to put it nicely.
And that's what the Iraqis do.
I have to give America the credit of trying at least.. I just wish they could have learned from their mistakes. Because they are mistakes, their wars and the presidents they've got elected. All of them. I can't think of a single nation where it has succeded. Please comment if you do.
America got all those conservative and fascist presidents "elected" or put in office after a coup, in almost all the nations in South America until the mid-to-end of the 90's.
Today, I don't think there's single nation in South America that's still blue and who didn't suffer greatly from the American foreign politics. They're all red or at least pinkish, except for Colombia and Mexico of course, nations where they basically have a civil war between the police and the drug cartels, with the civilians in the middle. Not that I'm blaiming that on America, but it's kind of a pattern at least..
What America should be doing instead of just to show a little more patience instead. The world would be such a better place if people were more patient and understanding.
It just won't go over night to make a country "better". What if America instead would spend at least half of their murder money on building schools and educating teachers as well as hospitals and doctors, instead of crusing in the bombed out streets listening to mtv-pop in their Humvees?
It's pretty simple actually, when the people of a country is both healthy and well educated the country is a developed country.

Also read a pretty interesting article over at fair.org about how Hugo Chávez and the Venezuelan democracy is reported in American press. Even a paper I kinda started to respect, the New York Times, have had a very skew image of what democracy is.
I particularly like this quote:
A few years later, in April 2002, following Chávez’s re-election by an even greater margin, Times editors cheered a coup against Chávez by Venezuelan elites (Extra! Update, 6/02), declaring in Orwellian fashion that thanks to the overthrow of the elected president, “Venezuelan democracy is no longer threatened by a would-be dictator.”
Many peoples view of democracy seems to be that whenever a conservative and most of the times fascist leader has the power, it's a perfect democracy. Knowing that, it's bleeding obvious that a leftist just can't be democratically elected...
They're also complaining of that Señor Chávez want to change the constitution so that the people can elect a president more than the two times it is now. I'd like to hear them complain about Tage Erlander who basically built the Sweden we have today during his 23 years as the Swedish Prime Minister.

It's going to be a very interesting day at work today as there will be two Danish persons who have applied for the vacant Danish position present for some kind of info session. I'm extremely curious of what they might be like as I've seriously started to conside that there just can't be a single sane person coming from that country.
Unfortunately it looks like mine and L's proposal to our managers of having a psychiatric present at the interviews of those two persons won't go through...

Regarding the last bit about psychiatrist, at my workplace everybody has to have a full evaluation of their sanity, and how they cope with stress :)
Nice read otherwise..

Unfortunately this position is too far down the ladder for that. You’ll have to do one of those if you apply for manager though, and i guess deputy manager as well, which is the step above.
Oh and thanks!

Så det börjar bli dags för Sverige?
Ser man på, det hade jag inte gissat. Dock känns det väl lite mer självklart att det skulle bli söder. No suprises there.
