The Da Vinci Code
There was a lot of things I thought about, coming out of the cinema after seeing this much anticipated movie, but the one thing I'm just wondering about is what the hell all the hype was about?!
If you haven't read the book or seen the film and don't want to get it spoiled, don't continue to read.
I have not read the book, and I did not know at all what it was about. Sure, it was hard to not get something about it as you could read the plot in every article about either the book, the movie or the church's reaction to it. So I did get a glimpse of it so to speak, but it was just a small part of it.
However, I just can't understand the whole shebang about the whole thing. Jesus married a hooker and got a child, so fucking what? I did not believe in Jesus. I do believe tho, in the bible being a book of tales that people of ancient times told their kids. Or something like that.
But as there was such a big hype about the whole thing, I really thought it would be some enormous hoax about it all, not that Jesus was a bit hornier than people believed earlier.
I think that if the church just would have let this whole thing go, and not get so fucking upset about it, it would just have been a boring old book with some conspiracies in it (could it be that the book is written by the church in order to make money? Cos we all know that the catholists are a big bunch of money-craving people).
So how was the movie? A fairly decent thriller, that's all. It had some exciting things about it, and quite a few really boring moments too. And of course, nothing got solved and everything continued as it was before. So in a way, everything was done for nothing.
I think that to appreciate this thing, you have to believe in Jesus, at least for a bit. But then of course, if you do belive in Jesus, you won't appreciate it anyway.
